OMT Player for Windows
OMT Player for Windows – Unzip, start, and receive OMT streams directly with image and sound.
vMix29 has established a fantastic new media transport protocol, OpenMediaTransport (OMT).
This allows media files to be distributed easily within the local network. Unlike NDI, this protocol is license-free. I wish this product a successful launch into the media world.
Description
I have developed a small OMT Player for Windows that allows you to receive OMT streams (video + audio) directly on the network. The application is based on the official libomtnet SDK (thanks Martin) and uses NAudio for audio playback.
Features
- Automatic discovery of OMT sources in the local network
- Video display in window (BGRA)
- Audio playback (48 kHz, stereo)
- Easy operation via Refresh / Connect / Disconnect
Download & Installation
- Unzip ZIP into any folder and run Setup
Note
If no source is found (even though one is running), please check the Windows firewall. For me, it helped to turn off the firewall or create a rule for OMTplay.exe.
Tested with vMix (standard OMT settings) – approx. 50–70 Mbit/s arrive in the player.
Works perfectly for me, even wirelessly on a WiFi6 network.
This is not mature production software
